What would happen if we returned the ratio of House members to citizens to the 1 to 30,000 as decreed in our Constitution?

We would have 1,100 Representatives.

They would have to stay home.

That’s moving power down; it builds democracy.

It makes elections local, draining the swamp of political money.

It would eliminate gerrymandering.

It would reorder the Electoral College.

Our electoral system could be further divided, and harder to crack, if based on smaller districts, defined by population based, topological random walks.

Online voting would be easier, locally secured, and reported immediately by the representatives voting as electors in ranked choice, reflecting how their districts voted, leading always to a majority winner the next day.

Local politics would lead to local news led by local KNOWN people with local on line publications.

American communities work. They need more support. This is the best way.

Commonsense? Whynot

Excellent points on the de-evolution of our media, and Russia's corruptive efforts. Just to note in addition, one very loud voice that Republicans were being programmed to reflexively follow since 2016, Trump, had been openly deferring to Putin, seeking his help in winning an election, trusting Putin over our own intelligence agencies, used leverage (which denied defensive armament) on Ukraine to paint Ukraine company as corrupt for Biden, Showed the strongest possible relationship with Putin... and of course, immediately following the 2022 invasion complimented Putin for his brilliance...

While it is possible Putin merely played the severely emotionally damaged Trump, or perhaps Putin has blackmail leverage on Trump, either way Trump has clearly become a Russian asset that the Loyalist MAGA based on their acquired identity, are persuaded to not support Ukraine. Most of the persuasion has been along the lines apparently of isolationism. Not getting involved. Not worth our money (while bombing Iran) to help Ukraine resist Russia. While most do not feel Russia is our friend, many are encouraged to just not care. Trump of course has been sending signals (until, perhaps, recently?) that he MUCH prefers Putin over Zelensky.
