Owning the Fight Against Trump's Attack on the Rule of Law
We’re powering courtroom victories to defend democracy for all of us
Checks and balances are on life-support. Congress is paralyzed, and corrosive policies keep rolling downhill — quietly tightening around our freedoms. Waiting on politicians to fix it means waiting at least 1.5 years, but it could just as easily be 3.5 or more.
Lawsuits are the best solution we have in this moment
The biggest impact we can have right now is through the one branch of government willing to do its job and hold the Executive accountable: the Courts.
But for many Americans, defending our freedoms through the courts seems like an abstract idea that’s available only to the wealthy and their lawyers.
We’re proving that’s wrong.
Because Bright America is different — every time you hit share, or subscribe, or donate, you really aren’t investing in our writing, you are investing in your own tiny but impactful share of the next lawsuit that reins in government abuse.
Litigation fueled by everyday Americans
Bright America channels moral and financial support straight into key court cases — no detours. Consider this Substack the grassroots engine room for our legal strike team at our strategic partner Campaign Legal Center. Here’s just a few things we’ve been up to:
» Blocked Trump’s anti-voter executive order. We halted a March 2025 order that would have placed unprecedented restrictions on eligible voters that would have made it extremely difficult to register or re-register to vote.
» Stopped Musk’s unlawful “DOGE” power-grab. When a Elon Musk tried to slash federal budgets via the so-called U.S. DOGE Service, we sued to restore funding and reaffirm that only Congress controls the purse.
» Defended checks-and-balances in Moore v. Harper. Our briefs helped persuade the Supreme Court to reject the “independent state legislature” theory, preserving judicial review of partisan gerrymanders.
These aren’t just blog posts about what should be done; they’re real-world wins — built brick-by-brick with the collective investments (both moral and financial) from readers like you.
We need your help to spread the word
Yes, we’ve got 200,000+ people in this movement, but think about how much more we could do with double, triple, and all the multipliers beyond that. Saving democracy is a numbers game — we have to grow the number of people who understand what’s at stake and that there’s still hope when we come together right now.
So forward and share Bright America with friends and family who:
are fired up and looking for a way to make an impact bigger than a politician or party
may feel hopeless about the fate of our country
want to teach the next generation what civic courage looks like.
Together we’re not just reading about democracy — we’re defending it, one courtroom win at a time. Let’s build the next case — together.

Will pass this along. We need to keep protesting in huge numbers and keep the courts busy with the Liar in Chief's BS.
