Is Elon Musk buying Congress, too?
This corruption scandal isn’t just about him — it’s about whether America can still hold its most powerful citizens accountable.
When billionaires start using their wealth to punish judges and purchase Congress, it’s not politics as usual.
It’s corruption, plain and simple — and it’s an existential threat to American democracy.
At Bright America, we don't believe democracy can survive if lawlessness and greed are allowed to win. That’s why we partner with Campaign Legal Center (CLC) — one of the only groups willing to go straight at these abuses with legal action — to fuel accountability.
And today, thanks to your support, we’re helping shine a light on one of the most brazen influence operations in modern American history — one that’s happening right now, not behind closed doors, but proudly in public view.
The Problem: Corrupting Congress
In April, our movement filed a formal complaint against Elon Musk — not just for illegally contributing $1 million through SpaceX to a pro-Trump super PAC, but for something even more alarming: directly targeting Congress itself with suspicious political contributions linked to official government actions.
Here’s what happened:
🚨 Musk publicly demanded Congress impeach federal judges he didn’t like.
🚨 He posted attacks on specific judges and praised efforts to strip their authority.
🚨 At the same time, he sent maximum-allowed political contributions ($6,600 apiece) to 19 members of Congress — almost all of whom immediately took official actions Musk was calling for, such as filing or cosponsoring articles of impeachment.
Sixteen of those lawmakers acted within a single business day of receiving Musk’s money. The other three acted within the week.
This wasn’t subtle. This wasn’t normal.
This was a billionaire trying to buy the machinery of government — to punish judges who stood in his way.
The Big Picture: Musk’s Influence Operation
The 19 members of Congress who received Elon Musk's contributions and took the actions Musk demanded include:
Lauren Boebert (CO)
Eric Burlison (MO)
Buddy Carter (GA)
Andrew Clyde (GA)
Mike Collins (GA)
Eli Crane (AZ)
Warren Davidson (OH)
Brandon Gill (TX)
Abraham Hamadeh (AZ)
Mark Harris (NC)
Anna Paulina Luna (FL)
John McGuire (VA)
Mary Miller (IL)
Andy Ogles (TN)
Michael Rulli (OH)
Marlin Stutzman (IN)
Marjorie Taylor Greene (GA)
Keith Self (TX)
Tony Wied (WI)
Many of these representatives cosponsored or introduced articles of impeachment against federal judges within hours of the donation landing in their campaign accounts.
Musk wasn’t subtle about it either:
On March 16, he reposted a congressman’s announcement about filing impeachment articles against Judge Boasberg, calling it “Necessary.”
On March 19, he declared, “For more than two centuries, there has never been such extreme abuse of the legal system by activists pretending to be judges. Impeach them.”
On March 20, Musk attacked Judge Boasberg again, calling him a “radical activist cosplaying as a judge.”
He even offered $100 payments to Wisconsin voters who signed a petition opposing "activist judges."
It’s clear: Musk used his massive platform to publicly pressure Congress, while using his checkbook to reward those who obeyed.
And it wasn’t just about political speech.
It crossed a bright legal line: campaign contributions linked to official acts, a serious violation of House rules and possibly federal law.
Why This Matters
If Musk succeeds — if billionaires learn they can buy impeachments the way they buy yachts — America’s entire system of independent courts collapses.
Judges are supposed to interpret the law based on the Constitution, not based on which billionaire is bankrolling their enemies.
Congress is supposed to represent the people — not auction off their votes to the highest bidder.
This isn’t about right versus left. It’s about freedom versus corruption.
It’s about whether democracy still means something, or whether it becomes just another luxury good for the ultra-wealthy to purchase.
And if we don’t stop it here, the next Musk will push even harder. The next scandal will be even worse. And the American people — not the billionaires — will pay the price.
Solution: Bright America’s Fight
At Bright America, we refuse to stand by while democracy is sold off to the highest bidder.
That’s why we’re proud to work with our strategic partner CLC to:
✅ Investigate Elon Musk’s illegal contributions to Members of Congress.
✅ Demand formal inquiries into whether House rules — and federal law — were broken.
✅ Expose the growing pipeline between billionaires and corrupt government actions.
✅ Defend the simple principle that the law applies equally to everyone.
This is about restoring a basic truth: Public office is a public trust — not a billionaire's bargaining chip.
And your support of Bright America makes this work possible. Every investigation. Every filing. Every legal challenge. Every lawsuit. Every defense of the rule of law.
No Time to Back Down
Democracy doesn’t end in one dramatic moment. It gets sold off — piece by piece — but only if we let it!

John McGuire is the rep for VA-05. I live there, but he doesn’t rep me !
I’ve been trying to decide what to put on my sign for 1 May. This is ammunition I don’t think I can pass up.
This is a great start. Suggestions:
Which committees do they serve on?
Note that Trump/DOJ/FBI have disarmed the fight against public corruption by eliminating enforcement and attacking the press investigations.
We need joint justiciary committees over sight.
Need public hearings and strict oversight on ALL White House budget items
Need to win both house in midterms
